"Have-a-go at scuba diving!"
WAPSAC is dedicated to the growth of our sport and if you are interested in learning to dive but aren’t 100% sure, why not have a ‘Try Dive’, you must be over 14 years of age and reasonably fit. A ‘Try Dive’ is a closely controlled and monitored brief introduction to scuba diving in a swimming pool environment.

A ‘Try Dive’ with WAPSAC costs £15 which covers the cost of the pool hire and use of the diving equipment. All you need to bring along is your swimsuit and towel, WAPSAC provides everything else. It will last for approximately 45 minutes, the first 15 minutes includes a pool side practical introduction to scuba diving equipment, safety briefing and hazard awareness. You will then ‘kit up’ and scuba dive in the pool with an instructor on a 1:1 basis.

Scuba diving is a sport that requires a general level of physical fitness and general good health. If you have a medical history of musculoskeletal disorders, diabetes, blackouts, epilepsy, perforated eardrums, high blood pressure, heart disease, lung or respiratory disorders or dependence on drugs you may not be able to dive safety. If you suffer from any of these medical conditions, you cannot participate in a ‘Try Dive’ until you have been declared ‘Fit to Dive’ by a suitably qualified medical referee. WAPSAC can advise how this can be arranged consistent with BSAC fitness to dive requirements.

Every precaution will be taken to ensure your enjoyment and safety during your ’Try Dive’. WAPSAC reserves the right to end the ‘Try Dive’ at any time if the instructor believes it is in your best interest to do so. Please remember that a ‘Try Dive’ is just a basic introduction to scuba diving in a shallow swimming pool and should not be construed as scuba diving training. Your instructor will be able to answer any questions you may have about scuba diving and how you can start your training course with WAPSAC.
